Best Birdwatching Tour (Cuyabeno & Limoncocha), 5-Days / 4-Nights
On our first outing, we’ll head to the stunning Limoncocha Lagoon, a natural paradise where the waters sparkle with a distinctive lemon hue. As the sun sets, we’ll be treated to a view of exotic birds embellishing the landscape. When night falls, the scene transforms into a magical experience with a dazzling light show from insects, creating a truly unique nocturnal performance. Get ready for an unforgettable evening in this corner of the world brimming with wonders! Limoncocha Lodge
We left to Limoncocha, we’ll head north for approximately an hour. There, we’ll board our canoe to continue our expedition. We’ll spend the morning navigating the majestic Aguarico River in search of exotic and fascinating birds. This thrilling journey of 3 to 4 hours will lead us to our exclusive Kichwa Lodge, nestled in the heart of the Cuyabeno Reserve. Prepare for unforgettable surprises. In the afternoon and evening, we’ll relax on our dock, watching the sunset as the daytime birds bid us farewell and the night embraces us with the enchanting sounds of nocturnal birds such as owls and potoos.
Early in the morning, we’ll navigate the Cuyabeno River, meticulously observing incredibly beautiful birds. This is our chance to spot the majestic harpy eagle. During the morning, we’ll stop at a parrot clay lick to watch these colorful birds descend to consume clay. Afterwards, we’ll continue searching for smaller yet equally captivating birds. We’ll have lunch in the forest and take a couple of hours to rest and recharge. Later, we’ll ascend to our 35-meter observation tower, where we’ll wait with great patience to spot more avian wonders.
We’ll start the day with a jungle trek in search of birds such as the golden-headed manakin and various antbirds. This will be our farewell to the unique experiences of this extraordinary place.
